The Teacher

Piano has always been a part of my life. I was born in Brazil to parents who shared a deep love for music, and my mother, a piano teacher, introduced me to the instrument at the age of four. From those early years, I was encouraged to explore and enjoy music, and as I grew, I studied with different teachers, each bringing unique styles that shaped my passion and versatility at the piano.
Over the years, I have performed in church, choirs, orchestras, and countless recitals, keeping music at the heart of my life. When I moved to the United States for college, I continued to stay involved in music, singing in the men’s choir and playing both piano and organ, even though my academic path wasn’t focused on music.
My journey into teaching began with my own children, who showed a natural excitement for learning piano. Their enthusiasm reminded me how rewarding it is to guide someone through music, and it inspired me to begin offering lessons to other students as well. So I created Legato Piano lessons.
Today, I teach students of all levels, beginners discovering their first notes and intermediate players aiming to grow. My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, blending music theory with hands-on practice, so every student can experience the joy of progress and the confidence that comes with it.
